Dr. Cheryl L. Holder
Climate, health and equity advocate

Dr. Cheryl L. Holder has dedicated her medical career to underserved populations. After graduating from Princeton University, she completed the The George Washington University School of Medicine and Internal Medicine training at Harlem Hospital. She teaches at Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, addressing diversity in health professions, the impact of social determinants of health on health outcomes and the health effects of climate change. She is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the president of the Florida State Medical Association, where she focuses on health disparities and increasing the number of African American physicians. She is co-chair of Florida Clinicians for Climate Action to increase climate literacy and awareness of the impact of climate change on health, especially for vulnerable populations.
