Katie Hasson writes, speaks, researches, and teaches about the social justice and human rights implications of human genetic and reproductive technologies. She is the Program Director on Genetic Justice at the Center for Genetics and Society, a nonprofit public interest organization based in Berkeley, California that works to ensure an equitable future where human biotechnologies benefit the common good. She has published scholarly and general-audience articles in venues such as The Guardian, The Hill, Zócalo Public Square, Trends in Biotechnology, and Perspectives in Biology and Medicine. She regularly speaks to academic and public audiences, and has appeared on numerous podcasts and television, radio, and online news programs. Dr. Hasson earned her PhD in Sociology at the University of California, Berkeley, and was previously Assistant Professor of Sociology and Gender Studies at the University of Southern California.
