Dr. Matshidiso Moeti
WHO, regional director for Africa
Dr. Matshidiso Moeti, from Botswana, is the first woman to be elected as WHO regional director for Africa. Over the past five years, she has led the transformation of WHO in Africa to ensure that the organization is accountable, effective and results-driven. Matshidiso is a public health veteran, with almost 40 years of national and international experience, more than half of which has been at the WHO regional office for Africa.
