Ariel Conn is the former director of communications and outreach for the Future of Life Institute. Her communications work covers a range of fields, including the safety of artificial intelligence (AI), AI policy, autonomous weapons, nuclear weapons, biotechnology and climate change. She also serves as an AI policy specialist, focusing on the domestic and international policy debate surrounding lethal autonomous weapons, particularly with respect to U.S. Department of Defense policy and the United Nations Convention on Conventional Weapons. She seeks to bridge the gap between technical experts, policymakers, industry and the general public both in the U. S. and internationally. She is the founder and president of Mag10 Media & Consulting, which helps organizations communicate and advocate for science and technology.
